The Hydraulic Institute (HI, www.pumps.org) added three organizations to its Standards Partners program, an initiative designed to facilitate collaboration among engineering consultants and pump users and HI members in the development of pump standards and educational efforts.
The new partners include:
Alden Research Laboratory (www.aldenlab.com) ¬– Founded in 1894 and based in Holden, Mass., Alden is the oldest continuously operating hydraulic laboratory in the United States and one of the oldest in the world. Alden is focused on fluid dynamics research and development.
CDM (www.cdm.com) ¬– CDM is a consulting, engineering, construction and operations firm, delivering service to public and private clients worldwide. CDM is based in Cambridge, Mass.
John Anspach Consulting ¬– John Anspach Consulting provides engineering services related to pumping systems employed in water and wastewater treatment, industrial, power, irrigation and flood control pumping. Services include equipment selection studies, energy reduction studies, excessive wear and vibration troubleshooting, training, design and specification reviews and pump testing.
Participation in HI’s Standards Partner program is open to engineering consulting firms as well as end-users of pumps, who add technical expertise to HI’s committees working with leading pump and supplier OEMs in writing standards and guidelines. Both large and smaller-sized companies are welcome to participate. Standards Partners are eligible to receive, for an annual fee, a package of HI products and services such as: copies of all new and revised HI Standards, HI Guides and access to HI e-Learning programs.
Corporations, partnerships, sole proprietorships and government agencies with offices in North America that are engineering firms, or provide engineering services, or are end-users of pumps may participate as a “Hydraulic Institute Standards Partner.” For more information, visit www.Pumps.org/Partners.
