Frontier Oil Corp. (www.frontieroil.com) plans to fight a $6.8 million environmental penalty against its Cheyenne, Wyoming refinery, according to a report by the Wyoming Tribune Eagle (www.wyomingnews.com).

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency cited Frontier Refining for the illegal storage of hazardous waste in a wastewater management pond. The EPA claims the pond was not constructed or operated properly to prevent or detect leaks.
