Honeywell Names Vimal Kapur President of Honeywell Process Solutions
Honeywell has named Vimal Kapur president of Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS), a Honeywell business that supplies automation control, instrumentation, and services to process manufacturers in industries such as oil & gas, refining, pulp & paper, petrochemicals, and metals, minerals and mining. Kapur has almost 30 years of experience in the process automation industry, and has been with Honeywell for more than 25 years. He has held a number of key strategic business positions within Honeywell including vice president of Global Marketing and Strategy for HPS, and managing director for Honeywell Automation India Limited (HAIL). Prior to this appointment, he was vice president/general manager of the Advanced Solutions line of business for HPS.
HART Recognized as China National Standard
The HART Communication Foundation announces that the HART Communication Protocol is now a China National Standard (GB/T 29910.1-6-2013) approved by the Standardization Administration of the China Industrial Department and officially presented to the Foundation during a special event in Beijing on May 8. A Chinese National Standard ensures consistency and reliability throughout China in terms of copyright and technology implementation. End users can use the standard as a benchmark for selecting HART Registered products that meet mandatory technical and interoperable requirements. The ITEI (Instrumentation Technology and Economy Institute) Test Lab performs the same rigorous compliance testing procedures on HART and WirelessHART devices as the Test Lab at the HART headquarters in Austin, Texas, in accordance with established Foundation policies, guidelines and requirements. During the May 8th event at the Beijing Capital Hotel hosted by the HART Communication Foundation, ITEI and the China National Technical Committee of Industrial Process Measurement and Control, Mrs. Wei Sun, Division Chief of the Standardization Administration of the China Industrial Department, presented the official publication of the HART National Standard (GB/T 29910.1-6-2013: Industrial Communication Networks-Fieldbus Specifications-Type 20: HART Specification).
Cashco Promotes Brandon Bunger to Assistant Product Manager
Cashco, Inc. recently announced the promotion of Brandon Bunger to assistant product manager. Bunger had previously filled the role of mechanical designer in the engineering department, having joined Cashco in June 2012. Originally from Hays, Kan., Brandon received his degree with an emphasis on technology studies at Fort Hays State University prior to joining Cashco upon graduation. In his new role, Bunger will be responsible for providing technical support on Cashco valve products to other departments within the company.
Viega LLC announced its 2013 Top Gun award winners at the company’s 2014 annual national sales meeting. In addition, one Viega employee, David Carey, network and systems supervisor, was selected as the employee that most embodies the company’s core values, and was named “Ambassador of the Year.”

WAGO Corporation Introduces Michael Savittieri as Regional Sales Manager for Arizona, New Mexico & Southern Nevada
WAGO Corporation introduces Michael Savittieri as regional sales manager for Arizona, New Mexico and Southern Nevada. Savittieri brings more than 17 years of experience to WAGO in the aerospace, instrumentation, military, and automotive markets. Prior to joining WAGO, Savittieri was a regional sales manager for Yokogawa, Badger Meter, and HBM, Inc. His background varies from data acquisition and power measurement to sensors and instrumentation.
GE Named 'Water Company of the Year'
GE was named Water Company of the Year at the annual Global Water awards. The award recognizes the water company that made the most significant contribution to the development of the international water sector in 2013. GE representatives accepted the award during Global Water Intelligence’s Global Water Summit 2014 in Paris, France. Throughout 2013, GE's technological contributions included the Steamate LSA corrosion protection technology; the AG LF membrane; TrueSense for Process, an online crude monitoring system; new pressurized and submerged ultrafiltration membranes designed for pretreatment of feedwater for seawater reverse-osmosis systems; and GE’s LEAPprimary, which is a primary treatment technology for use with GE’s ZeeWeed membrane bioreactor (MBR) and LEAPmbr system.
