FORCE Technology announced the May 13 grand opening of a new high-pressure calibration facility, which includes what the company describes as the “world’s largest” closed loop for high-pressure calibration of natural gas meters.
“Our goal with the new facility is to meet the demands and requirements from the worldwide natural gas industry by offering a unique calibration service,” Jesper Busk, head of the gas flow department at FORCE Technology, said in a press release.
The new high-pressure calibration facility in Vejen, Denmark is built as a closed loop with low pressure loss, and, according to FORCE Technology, is the only one of its kind in the world. Its design facilitates calibration of natural gas meters at maximum flow and maximum pressure all year round, irrespective of the season.
The new system consists of a 12” (300 mm) high-pressure loop for calibration of gas meters; 4” primary twin Piston prover system; and a 24” (600 mm) high-pressure loop for calibration of gas meters.
The grand opening is expected to attract gas meter manufacturers and gas suppliers from the global gas industry, the company said.
With opening speeches by FORCE Technology and Daniel, Emerson, the grand opening will also include facility demonstrations and an exhibition lounge with participation from KROHNE Oil & Gas; Emerson; Honeywell Process Solutions; Elster Group GMBH; SICK Engineering GmbH; and GE Measurement & Control.
