Sage Metering, Inc. taps industry veteran to be vice president of sales and business development
(Monterey, Calif. — Sage Metering release) — Sage Metering Inc. has just named Fred Whorff as its new vice president of sales and business development.
A hands-on engineer, Whorff brings decades of knowledge and skills to Sage Metering. For the past 30 years, Whorff has worked in process control engineering and fluid dynamics for water and wastewater, industrial, agricultural, mining, oil & gas, and HVAC markets.
"Fred seems to enjoy challenges, and has an incredible wealth of experience with instrumentation, management, engineering, and strategic selling, says Bob Steinberg, president and CEO of Sage Metering, Inc.
Whorff is no stranger to Sage Metering. Prior to joining Sage, Whorff was a client.
"As a prior customer of Sage Metering, I have always been impressed with not only the performance of their products, but their level of commitment to helping their customers in a consultive manner," Whorff said. "Their level of integrity is superior, bar none."
Before coming to Sage Metering, Whorff was the strategic sales manager at Badger Metering for six years. Prior to that, he worked at Azbil North America as their sales and business development manager.
Whorff has worked on flow challenges at mining facilities in Alaska, offshore oil and gas platforms in the North Sea, and sizeable fluid conveyance systems. He also has experience controlling subsidence issues and developing multiphase flow techniques for enhanced oil and gas recovery.
Steinberg has no doubt that Whorff is the best person to help grow his company.
"He's an absolute down-to-earth guy," Steinberg said. "He understands and fits right into our culture. A culture of collaboration, trust, and respect."
Sage has been in business for 20 years and is an industry leader in high-performance thermal mass flow meters, pioneering numerous innovations. Sage is also the first manufacturer to provide an on-site (in-situ) verification for thermal mass flow meters.
