CHARLOTTE, NC (Trafag AG release) — Trafag AG., a leading manufacturer of high-accuracy measurement devices, is proud to announce the release of its 8271 CMP Pressure Transmitter, engineered to meet the demanding requirements of the processing industry. This miniature pressure transmitter is designed for seamless integration, durability, and precise performance in a variety of processing applications.

The 8271 CMP Pressure Transmitter’s small and rugged construction enables integration into processing equipment where space is limited and withstands harsh environments, vibrations and potential physical impacts, ensuring longevity. An optional 5-fold overpressure resistance enhances reliability and prevents damage from pressure spikes common in processing applications, minimizing downtime and maintenance costs. The thin-film-on-steel measuring principle provides accurate and stable pressure readings for precise process control, optimizing efficiency and ensuring consistent product quality. Accuracy is ensured with ±0.5 % FS typ. or ±0.3 % FS typ. @ 25℃, guaranteeing precise pressure readings in critical processing applications, leading to improved product quality, reduced waste, and optimized process performance.

The 8271 CMP Pressure Transmitter comes with an M12x1 electrical connection that ensures reliable and standardized electrical connections in processing equipment, simplifying installation and maintenance, and minimizing downtime due to connection issues. The inclusion of LSS (DS 305 V2.0) simplifies network configuration and management within processing systems, reducing setup time and maintenance efforts for networked control architectures. Its CANopen bus protocol (DS301/DS404) facilitates seamless integration with existing control systems in processing plants, allowing for efficient data exchange for monitoring and controlling pressure in various processes. The CANopen output signal facilitates easy integration into CANopen-based control systems commonly used in processing plants, streamlining data transmission and control processes. Furthermore, the transmitter is CiA conformance tested, ensuring compliance with CANopen standards.

Accommodating different piping and mounting requirements with its wide range of pressure connections, the 8271 CMP Pressure Transmitter offers versatile installation options in various processing equipment. It is suitable for use in a wide range of processing applications, even those operating in extreme temperature conditions, due to its broad operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Its compact design allows for easy integration into space-constrained processing equipment, maximizing design flexibility and minimizing overall equipment size.

Designed with a wide range of options, the miniature pressure transmitter CMP 8271 meets specific requirements of various processing applications, providing cost-effective solutions and allowing for optimized performance in diverse processes. With a measuring range of 0...2.5 to 0...700 bar, it provides a versatile solution from low-pressure systems to high-pressure processes. The transmitter ensures reliable operation in harsh and wet environments commonly found in processing plants, protecting the transmitter from dust, water, and other contaminants due to its high protection rating of minimum IP67. Featuring high vibration and shock resistance, it maintains accuracy and reliability in processing equipment applications subject to demanding operating conditions, such as pumps, mixers, and other machinery.

Additional features include an auto-zero function, which allows for easy calibration and improved accuracy over time, minimizing the need for manual adjustments and ensuring consistent performance in processing applications. An auto-start mode enables operation without a master controller, increasing flexibility in system design and allowing for standalone operation in certain processing applications, such as remote monitoring.
