Spirax Sarco (www.spiraxsarco.com/us) opened its fifth Steam Technology Training Center in the United States. The facility, located at the company’s Midwest regional office in Lisle, Ill., is hosting an invitation-only open house on Mar. 27-29, 2006 for customers, distributors, and Spirax Sarco dignitaries. Spirax Sarco training centers provide educational programs in all areas of steam energy, focusing particularly on the keys to energy conservation and resource utilization.
In addition to classroom space, Spirax Sarco equips each training center with live steam labs, including see-through components, such as steam traps and pressure-powered condensate pumps operating under various conditions. The centers demonstrate system-induced stall, steam-trap testing procedures, heat exchangers, boiler controls, temperature-control systems, pressure-reducing stations, instrumentation and controls, metering solutions, and compressed-air systems.
Scheduled training courses focus on the operational needs connected with energy management, HVAC, operations, piping & process design, project engineering, process engineering, and maintenance. Each program is designed specifically for steam users involved in plant design, operation and maintenance. The centers also hold customized training to meet steam users’ specific needs.
